Laureen Regan, associate professor in the Fox School’s department of risk, insurance, and healthcare management, presented a paper to the Urban Insurance Taskforce of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance on Feb. 28.
Jack VanDerhei, professor in The Fox School’s department of risk, insurance, and healthcare management, recently participated in a Senate Finance Committee briefing on current funding rules for defined benefit plans and the potential impact of the administration’s reform proposal.
On Feb. 9, as part of its Executive Breakfast Series, the eBusiness Institute at The Fox School hosted a panel on “The Strategic Alignment of Information Technology.” At the breakfast, four industry leaders discussed how information technology aligns with business objectives. Approximately 90 industry executives and students attended.
On March 4 and 5, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management hosted a forum on the future of tourism in the Greater Philadelphia area.
David B. Smith, professor in The Fox School’s department of risk, insurance, and healthcare management, has the lead article in the March/April issue of Health Affairs. His article details “Racial and ethnic health disparities and the unfinished civil rights agenda.”
The Fox School now houses a new journal, the Journal of Risk Finance edited by
professor Mike Powers of Fox’s risk, insurance and healthcare management department. The journal describes itself as bringing “together the buy- and sell-sides of the risk management market.” This is the eighth journal that Fox publishes. Other journals include the Journal of International Management, the Journal of Economics and Business, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Risk Management and Insurance Review, Benefits Quarterly, The Financier and The Securitization Conduit.
