On March 23, civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton visited Main Campus to talk to Temple students about his life and experiences, and about the importance of getting involved in politics.
He challenged the students to take responsibility for their communities and to take a stand on issues that affect them.
Sharpton was invited to Temple by Hardwick Hall resident assistant Maggie Flynn.
“The students learned he was a poor boy from the ’hood who had a dream of making a difference,” Flynn said.
“I think his message was that everyone can make a difference.”
