New spaces for students

Vice president for Student Affairs Theresa Powell (center) and Temple President David Adamany (front left), along with Temple’s Board of Trustees, officially opened the new Student Center Annex Dec. 13, after the trustees held their quarterly meeting in the new space and toured the building.

The $30 million, four-story Student Center Annex, which has been in use since November, adds more than 85,000 square feet of space for Student Activities, meeting rooms, and the Temple News and other student organizations.

On the first floor is the always-popular game room, and the ground floor holds a theater with stadium seating (the Reel), a ‘club”-like room for live entertainment (the Underground), and a snack stand. For current listings of movies, bands and other activities, visit www.temple.edu/sac or http://calendar.temple.edu.
