Car sharing is a revolution in personal transportation - urban mobility for the 21st century. About 75% of North Americans live in cities. Many of them simply don't drive enough to justify the expense and hassles of owning a car - yet can't give up the freedom of driving a car when they want to. Car Sharing provides flexible wheels for an urban lifestyle. It's instant-access to a network of cars throughout the city, 24 hours-a-day, paying-per-trip, without commitment or inconvenience.
Visit the website at Temple's Office of Parking Services to learn more about the services in and around the Main, Ambler, Health Sciences and Center City campuses. Temple University's Facilities Management coordinates Shuttle Services between Temple University campuses, as well as running the Main Campus Owl Loop which provides door-to-door service 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM. WageWorks at Temple enables full time employees of Temple University to pay public transportation, vanpool, or parking expenses with pre-tax money.
Transportation InitiativesA Transportation Committee has been formed to address Temple’s green house gas emissions associated with the commuting habits of Temple faculty, students and staff, the fuel usage of the fleet of university vehicles, and air travel. As part of the transportation committee, a bike subcommittee has been established with a focus on making Temple more bicycle-friendly. A bike counting project on Temple University’s Main Campus was conducted by students organized by the Office of Sustainability from October 28, 2008 through November 3, 2008 to assess the need for more bike racks. |
