Italy Semester/Year Program

Program Internships

Temple University Rome offers a limited number of unpaid internships with Italian and multinational companies and non-profit organizations in Rome. A student typically continues regular coursework while also registered for an internship. For the internship, the student receives Temple University course credit (3 credit hours) for International Business 3585 . The internship comprises three of the 12 to 17 credit hours for which students typically register.  Students should verify with their home colleges that they will receive academic credit for internships.

A faculty supervisor who oversees the internship sets the evaluation requirements for the internships, meets with the student regularly, and requires a final report or project about the internship experience.

Companies participating in the Temple Rome internship program include: World Food Program, International Juridical Organization for Environment and Development, International Development Law Organization, Foresti-Home Collection Group, and English Yellow Pages.

To be eligible, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be accepted to the study abroad program. To apply, students must submit an internship application (with essay), a professional resume, and a form from their home college/university indicating approval of the internship.  More information is provided to accepted students.  No student is permitted to register for only an internship.
