Emergency Contact Information

All students receive an emergency phone number for the on-site program director prior to departure. Students should take this phone number with them and also leave it with their parents.

Parents are often concerned when they do not hear from their son or daughter immediately after arrival.Your concern is natural, but in most cases, students are not able to make international phone calls from the airport. No word is usually an indication that your son or daughter has been caught up in the excitement of being in a new country. Students participating in a Temple program are encouraged to contact their parents (via email, collect call, or international phone card) within 48 hours of arrival. Be assured that the on-site program staff or International Programs will always notify parents if there is a serious problem.

In case of emergency, if parents need to contact their student but do not have the emergency phone number, they may call the International Programs office at Temple University, 215-204-0720, (Monday -Friday, 8:30 - 5:00). If it is not during normal business hours, they should call the Temple University Security office, 215-204-1234, and leave a phone number where they can be reached (please also mention the name of the student and the program that he/she is on); a Temple University International Programs administrator will get back to you as soon as possible.
