Become a Study Abroad Ambassador

If you are eager to talk to other Temple students about your experiences overseas, and hope to encourage more Temple students to study abroad, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Education Abroad seeks to appoint a few qualified students as Study Abroad Ambassadors. The duties of Study Abroad Ambassadors include assisting with study abroad promotional efforts, providing basic advising to prospective study abroad students, and participating in study abroad information sessions and special events throughout the semester. Qualifications for Study Abroad Ambassadors include excellent communication, presentation and creative skills; and enthusiasm for and experience studying abroad.

Study Abroad Ambassadors are required to commit approximately 5 hours per week, including attendance at weekly staff meetings.  Additionally, participation in the Study Abroad Ambassador training is required.

Applications for the spring 2013 semester are due on or before January 25, 2013.

Share your experiences with other students at Temple! Student Volunteers agree to volunteer at study abroad events and create a Student Profile for the Education Abroad web site. Students interested in volunteers can sign up here.

Post about your experience on our blog

We are looking for students to share their experiences, challenges and stories from abroad on our office blog. The blog posts will serve to provide prospective students a better idea of what it’s really like to be a student studying and living abroad. We’re looking for a wide-range of topics including classes, food, culture, your program, language, adjustment to life abroad, events you attended, excursions or travels—anything that helps define your life as a study abroad student. All study abroad alumni are invited to participate and may contribute a single post or a series of posts. Captioned photos are also welcome. If you are interested in contributing, please send your submissions to study.abroad@temple.edu. Be sure to include your name, program, program location, and title of your submission.  All submissions will be reviewed before being posted.

Request that you be added to the Education Abroad alumni listserv

We send out a few e-mails per month with information regarding future opportunities abroad, international photo and writing contests, special events, and ways to get involved in the study abroad community back at Temple. If you are still attending Temple University and would like to be added, e-mail study.abroad@temple.edu, and write “Add to alumni listserv” in the subject line.
