PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION & ORIENTATION
Pre-departure information will be available online to participants prior to departure and covers such logistical issues as transportation, visas, immunizations, medical care and insurance, as well as suggestions for preparing participants academically and culturally for the program. A pre-departure orientation is offered in Philadelphia for each program prior to departure, and further orientation takes place upon arrival abroad.
PASSPORTS & VISAS
A passport is required for all programs. In addition, countries are increasingly requiring that students obtain a visa for participation in summer programs. If required for the program, information on the visa application process is provided to students after their acceptance. A passport is required as part of any visa application process, so if you do not already have a valid passport, you should apply for one immediately.

Students with questions about financial aid should contact their home institutions. Please visit the Financial Aid section for more information.
COSTS AND PAYMENT POLICIES
For general costs of each program, please refer to the relevant program description. Detailed cost and budget information for each program is included in the pre-departure information provided to all participants.
Students admitted to a Temple study abroad program must confirm admission with a non-refundable deposit of $200 within two weeks of acceptance to the program. This deposit is credited towards the student’s fees. For students choosing Temple-arranged housing (mandatory for some programs and optional for others; refer to the program descriptions online for specifics), a non-refundable housing deposit of $200 is required. Due dates appear in the pre-departure information provided to students after their acceptance. This deposit is also credited to the student’s account. Temple University invoices students for all remaining program charges, at which point final payment must be made.
