This club is to help provide a supportive information source to women
that will allow them to succeed in Podiatry while helping them to
overcome the challenge specific to life as a professional woman. This
year, the AAWP helped raise money for Breast Cancer research, provided
injection workshops, and held guest lectures on such topics as practice
management, treatment protocols, and holistic medicine. On behalf of the
AAWP we would like to thank the following sponsors of the 1998 talent

The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Student Chapter provides
students with additional information concerning podatric surgery.
Throughout the previous academic year the club hosted approximately 15
guest lectures from various residency programs across the country. In
addition the club sponsored workshops which enabled students to gain
hands on experience. For example, the saw bone and suture workshops were
thought and directed by the TUSPM surgical faculty.
Next year the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Student
Chapter is planning to provide more workshops and increase the number of
guest lectures. The proposed workshops are as follows: internal fixation
workshop, surgical instrumentation orientation workshop, and surgical
introduction semesters for first year students.

the fight against Diabetes. In the past two years alone, this
organization has raised over $3,700.00 for the ADA through our annual
bachelor auction. This event, held each spring, includes bachelors from
TUSPM and area medical schools including Jefferson and Temple. Next year
we hope to continue this tradition. The annual ADA Walktoberfest will be
joined next year by the TUSPM Chapter of the APMA. This will allow us to
increase diabetes awareness as well as funds raised for both
organizations. National Affiliation: American Diabetes Association

The Radiology club "radiated" this year (97-98) for it provided a great
learning experience for all who participated in its’ meetings,
presentations, and workshops. In the beginning of the year, it
immediately "sparked" the interest and enthusiasm of many students and
faculty as will with its’ fundraiser’s grand prize (X-ray view box).
Additional prizes included mugs and clinical pen lights. Throughout the
year, third year student case presentations proved to be a great
interactive way of learning among students about unique cases. In
addition, periodic lectures from Podiatric physicians concerning such
topics as bone scans, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine became a great tool for
advancing our knowledge of the available technology. Projects such as
MRI workshops for third year students and bone identification workshops
for first year students were also a great success. The Radiology club
not only provides book knowledge, but hands on experience as well
concerning X-ray related topics.
