- How do we check into the hotel?
- Checking into the hotel is a simple procedure. Every participant has been registered with the hotel. Therefore, any occupant of a specific room can collect the room keys at the hotel registration desk. A separate e-mail will be sent out to each student branch describing their room allocations.
- Where do we park when we get to the Crowne Plaza?
- There is onsite parking available at the hotel, provided courtesy of the conference. Take a ticket upon entering the lot, and present this ticket to the receptionist at the hotel lobby to have your parking validated. You may exit and enter the premises as many times as you like.
- Will the hotel ask us for a credit card when we check in?
- Yes, they need this for miscellaneous room charges. You may decline to provide a credit card, but note that you will not be able to order anything in your room or make long distance phone calls.
- Where do we receive information about the next day’s activities?
- When you arrive at the hotel, there will be two representatives from Temple University greeting you in the lobby. They will present each school with their welcome packets that include nametags, university parking passes, Internet login information, schedule for the day, directions, etc. If you arrive after 10 PM, please proceed to the Engineering and Architecture building at Temple University the following morning for breakfast at 7:30 AM. We will provide you with your packets at that time.
- Where do we park when we arrive at the Temple University campus?
- Parking will be available at Lot # 7 located next to the Engineering building. The address is 1947. N 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122. When you enter the parking lot, please display the parking pass enclosed in your welcome packet to gain entrance to the lot. Please note that the parking lot entrance is on Norris Street. In addition, Norris St. is a one way street, therefore in order to reach the parking lot, from Broad Street, make a right on Cecil B. Moore Avenue and then make a left on 11th street (3 lights) and continue straight; finally, make a left on Norris Street. The parking lot entrance will be on your left. Please DO NOT park your vehicles at other lots, as we cannot validate you parking there.
- How do we receive parking passes if we do not reach Philadelphia before the 17th?
- If your team does not reach Philadelphia in time for registration on Friday, please e-mail us and we will send you your parking passes via e-mail.
- Are there any events planned for Friday and Sunday?
- Aside from the conference registration on Friday night, students taking part in the Micromouse competition will be given a chance to practice on the actual maze at Temple University. Building will be open for students from 5 PM -7:30 PM. There are no formal activities planned for Sunday morning but if there is interest, a group will go to breakfast. Walking tours of downtown on Sunday morning will be provided free of charge ;)
- When do we need to check out?
- Please note that checkout time on Sunday, April 18, is 11 AM.
- How will we receive travel reimbursements?
- Travel reimbursement forms will be made available at the banquet. Students can fill them out and leave them with us, or mail them directly to:

- A scanned, signed copy can be emailed to Dr. Bai (email: lbai@temple.du) as well. Note that travel reimbursement consists of $400.00 towards transportation costs and are limited to one per university.

- Will the paper competition be open to the public?
- Yes, the paper competition will be open to all attendees of the conference.
- What is the attire for the day?
- During the day, please restrict your attire to business casual as quite a few of the industry representatives will be in attendance. Business casual can include wearing school colors. However, students who wish to attend the Career Fair are highly encouraged to be in strict professional attire. Finally, the dress code for the banquet will be business professional.
- Will we have a chance to go back to the hotel to prepare for the banquet?
- The competitions will end by 5:30 PM, and the doors will open for the Banquet at 6:30 PM. Dinner will be served promptly starting at 7 PM. We ask that you be seated by then.
- Where is the banquet?
- Due to some last minute changes, the banquet location has been shifted to the Doubletree Hotel. Directions from the Crowne Plaza to the banquet are included in your welcome packets.
- Where should we park for the Banquet?
- The Doubletree Hotel has its own parking lot next to its property. Please collect a ticket as you enter the parking lot and bring it with you to the banquet hall. Temple volunteers will validate your parking at the hall entrance. Please note, that if you park elsewhere, we cannot validate your parking.
- Will there be special accommodations for those with dietary restrictions?
- We have arranged for vegetarian options, but we need a head count. If you or any of your team members is a vegetarian, or has other special dietary restrictions, please send an e-mail to templeieee@gmail.com so that we can make appropriate arrangements for you. The banquet is a seated dinner.
- Which companies will be in attendance for the Career Fair?
- Lockheed Martin, Microsoft and BAE are just a few of the companies that will be present at the Career Fair. Many IEEE societies will also be there including AESS, FAP and WIE.
- Whom should we contact if we get lost driving to the Temple Campus?
- Emergency contact information will be listed in the welcome packets. Please feel free to contact any of the listed names for any kind of assistance.
- Whom should we contact if we need assistance at the hotel?
- Temple University will have two students housed at the Crowne Plaza. Please contact the hotel desk and they will connect you to the Temple representatives.
- How is the weather in Philadelphia this time of the year?
- Weather.com predicts that it will be a mild 65-72 ͦ F over the weekend with chances of a few showers. We recommend bringing a light jacket and an umbrella to ensure maximum comfort. Note that the conference will be hosted in several buildings connected through uncovered outdoor walkways.
- What will be the menu for the banquet?
- The banquet menu includes a Green salad and an Airline Chicken Breast accented with Marsala Wine Sauce for the entreé. As mentioned above, vegetarian options will be available for those who need it.
