- Meeting moved to MONDAY this week: McGladrey will be on campus for our weekly meeting this week. The meeting has been moved to Monday (in the regular room/regular time) instead of Wednesday.
- Last meeting next week: The last meeting of the semester at both main and Ambler campuses will be held next Wednesday, December 1st. BDO will be at main campus, and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will be at Ambler. Students who wish to volunteer for the VITA program this spring should plan to attend the VITA meeting at Ambler. You can also contact Steve Doneson (stephen.doneson@temple.edu) or Dr. Balsam (drb@temple.edu) for more information about the VITA program.

- Bake Sale: We will be having a bake sale on Wednesday November 3. Points will be awarded for volunteering or contributing goods. Check out the Bake Sale page for more information!
- Evening with Recruiters: Evening with Recruiters is next Friday, November 5. Please RSVP to this event if you have not already done so. This event is MANDATORY FOR ALL CANDIDATES. Business professional dress is required. This is a great opportunity to network with accounting firms and industry professionals, especially if you are still looking for an internship or job opportunity. Please view the EWR page for full information.
- KIPP Community Service: Remember that our KIPP community service event is this weekend. This is a good chance to earn points and to get your community services hours, for a good cause. Please view the KIPP page for more information, or if you would like to attend.

- MEMBERSHIP DUES: Please remember that membership dues ($55 for members, $90 for candidates) are due by this Wednesday, October 20.
- Upcoming events: Please review the calendar, as there are alot of events coming up, including the College Council blood drive, KIPP community service, weekly meetings, Volleyball Tournament, Evening with Recruiters, and many others. Some events require an RSVP, so be sure to check event details pages on the calendar, and respond to the emails you have received to determine which events need an RSVP. If you have not received email invitations to certain events, please contact the appropriate officer for the event as soon as possible.
- KPMG Box at TU football: KPMG has offered 10 tickets to BAP members/candidates for Temple's 10/30 and 11/16 football games. If you are interested in attending one of these games, please contact Phil Cantwell.
- Mock Interviews: Participation in a mock interview IS REQUIRED for candidates. Please contact Vladimir Begilman if you have not already scheduled a mock interview this semester. Completion of an actual interview may substitute for a mock interview if you have had an actual interview this semester.

- Volleyball Tournament: The annual volleyball tournament will be held Saturday October 23, 2010 this year. Please note that the event will be held on MAIN CAMPUS this year, in Pearson Hall. Details for the event are posted on the calendar.

- Informational Meeting: There will be an informational meeting for students interested in joining Beta Alpha Psi. The meeting will be held in Speakman 112 from 12:00 to 12:50. All are welcome to attend! Please join us! Membership requirements and membership benefits will be discussed, this is also a good opportunity to have any questions you may have answered.
- Membership Requirements: Potential new candidates can view membership requirements on the membership page. This page has a detailed outline of the requirements necessary to join. Any specific questions can be directed to the appropraite officer using the contact information on the officers page, or you can fill out the online contact form on the contact page and someone will reply when it is received. You may also bring up any questions at the informational meeting.
- Calendar updated: Our calendar for the fall semester has been updated! Please check out the calendar page to see all of the upcoming events and meetings that we will have this semester.

Also, any members who have graduated but are still receiving regular emails from the members mailing list can email Steve to have their subscription changed to an Alumni subscription.

- Elections: Elections for 2010-2011 officers will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Speakman 112 from 12:00 to 12:50. If you would like to run for a position, you may sign up using the Elections Google Spreadsheet. Please fill in your name under the position(s) that you would like to run for. You can view descriptions of each position on the Bylaws page, and if you have questions or would like more info about a position, you may contact any of the current officers at the addresses listed on the Officers page. If you are running for a position, please have a short speech prepared on why you should be considered for the position and what plans you have for the upcoming year. Those that are not running, please attend to participate in the voting!

- Alumni Survey: Students graduating in May 2010 or August 2010 (or who graduated in January 2010) please complete our graduate/alumni survey. This is your chance to provide advice for current students, as well keep us informed of your future plans, and to help us build our alumni network. The survey can be taken at the Alumni Survey Page.

- Calendar Adjustment: Due to the snow, meetings scheduled for Wednesday February 10 have been cancelled for both campuses. Please take note of several important changes to our calendar -- There will be a meeting held this coming FRIDAY FEBRUARY 12 at main campus in Alter Hall, Room AL031, from 12:00 to 12:50. PricewaterhouseCoopers will be presenting. Business casual is required and lunch will be served. The Fall 2009 candidate induction luncheon scheduled for 2/10 has been postponed and will now take place FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19 in SP 112, from 12:00 to 12:50. Business casual is required for this event as well.
- Spring Connection: Spring Connection is next Wednesday February 17 in Mitten Hall at Main Campus. Please contact CSPD with any questions about the event. You can also view the CSPD brochure to help you prepare for the event.
- Candidate dues: Please remember that candidate dues of $90, as well as the three candidate forms, are due no later than Wednesday February 24 for all Spring 2010 candidates. Please contact Alison Kelly, a.kelly@temple.edu, with any questions.
- Bowling Tournament: Our bowling tournament event will take place Wednesday February 24. Please make sure you respond to the evite for the event with your RSVP. If you would like to attend but did not receive an evite, please contact Lauren Rush, lauren.rush@temple.edu, as soon as possible.

- Candidate Forms: All new candidates please remember that the forms(including the updated dues form) you need to submit in order to officially become candidates are located on the membership page, in the forms section. All forms, along with candidate dues of $90 are due no later than Wednesday February 24, 2010.
- First meeting: Our first meetings at both campuses are taking place this Wednesday February 3! The main campus meeting will take place in Speakman Hall Room 112, from 12:00 to 12:50, and Marcum will be presenting. The first Ambler meeting will take place in Bright Hall Room 206, from 3:30 to 4:30 and will be a general welcome back meeting. Please remember to bring any canned food/clothing/monetary donations to contribute to the BAP Haiti Relief donation to the MAIN CAMPUS meeting. Points will be awarded for contributions!!

- Haiti Relief donation drive: College Council is sponsoring a Haiti Relief donation drive to support those affected by the earthquakes and natural disasters in Haiti. Beta Alpha Psi will be participating and making a donation to the drive from our organization. We asking all members and candidates to bring donations to our first meeting on Wednesday February 3 to contribute to the donation being made on behalf of BAP. Donations can be made in the form of canned food, clothing, and/or monetary donations. Points will be awarded for any contributions. Please try to help out this great cause if you can!
- Calendar Updated: Please check out the updated calendar page for this semester's meeting and events schedule. We will have an informational meeting this Friday, for people interested in joing, and our first meeting of the semester will be the following Wednesday with Marcum. Check out the calendar for the full schedule! Please also notice the Relay for Life Community Service event -- this is mandatory for all members and candidates!
- Internship Surveys: Some new surveys have been posted from our members who have completed internships over the summer. Check them out using the link in the quick links box to your right. If you have participated in an internship, we would also like to have your thoughts on the experience. You can now submit the survey using the simple form located on the surveys page!!

- Alumni/Quizzo night: This Thursday we will be hosting an Alumni Event/Quizzo night at The Draught Horse. All are welcome to attend(even if you did not previously RSVP). Food and drinks will be served starting at 7:30, with Quizzo starting at 9:00. This is an easy way to earn points, and a great way to network with alumni and professionals. - Community Service: Our final meeting for this semester will be held this Wednesday, December 9, from 12:00 to 12:50 in Speakman 112. This event will serve as a community service event, where will be making holiday cards for a nursing home. All members and candidates are strongly encouraged to attend this event, as a large turnout and participation in this event will help boost our chapter from "Distinguished" to "Superior" status, which is the highest level in our national organgization. Pizza will be served.

- VITA: The third annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at Temple University will be taking place this tax season, at Temple's Ambler Campus. VITA is an annual community service sponsored by the IRS to assist low- to moderate- income families and individuals who want to file their yearly tax returns for free. Members and candidates are encouraged to volunteer their time. This is a great way to gain experience, as well as a provide a beneficial community service to many people. Please check out the VITA page for more information about the program, how you can participate, and more!

- Members - Internship surveys: Members - Did you complete an internship over the summer? If so, we'd like to get your thoughts on your experiences. Please take our member internship survey, as we are looking to compile our member's responses for use on the website or newsletter again this year. Please complete as many of the questions as you can, and send the completed surveys to Steve Meade, smeade@temple.edu at your convenience if you wish to participate.
- Newsletter Committee: Beta Alpha Psi is looking for a new newsletter committee. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the organization and something to add to your resume. If you are interested in contributing and helping to develop 2-3 newsletters this semester, please contact Christina Kowal, christina.kowal@temple.edu.
- Reminders: The first meeting for returning members is this Wednesday, September 16, and the first meeting for new candidates is this Friday, September 18.

- IMPORTANT NEWS about our website: In accordance with Temple University's new computer services policies, all student organization websites must be located under a directory called "students." Therefore, effective immediately, computer services has moved our website, and the new URL is http://www.temple.edu/students/bap. Please update your bookmarks. The old URL, http://www.temple.edu/bap now redirects visitiors to the new "students" URL. The old URL will remain active as a redirect until 12/31/2009, after which point you will only be able to get to the BAP website by going to http://www.temple.edu/students/bap.

- Elections: Reminder that elections for all officer positions for 2009-2010 will held this coming Friday April 10, 2009. The elections meeting will be held in Speakman 212 from 11:40 to 12:30. Anyone who is interested in running for an officer position must email Jonathan Reiter, jonathan.reiter@temple.edu, no later than this coming Monday April 6. You should include the position you intend to run for as well as a brief speech to be given at the election meeting. Information on all positions as well as contact info for all the current officers can be found on the Elections Page.

- Special BAP Meeting for graduating seniors: Topics to be covered include: When and how to sign up for the CPA exam, when and how to sign up for a CPA review course, how to decide which CPA review course is right for you, what to do if you do not have a job offer yet, discussion of the new 150 hour credit requirements, and who it affects, & how to make sure you get your final posted transcript ASAP in order to be able to sit for the CPA exam. Speakers include: Liz Kolar, managing director of Philadelphia CPA Review; Helen Robinson, Fox Undergraduate Advising; & Sheri Risler, Professor of Practice. Our presenters will also be there to answer any and all questions that you may have about the CPA exam, graduating, job searches, etc. This meeting is open to ALL graduating accounting majors.
- Upcoming Events: Several new events have been scheduled, including two mock interviews, an office tour, and a CPA review class sit-in. Please check out the calendar for full details about each event.
- Lots of Updates to BAP Website: Please take a look around and check out all of the recently added new content! You can now search the entire website using the search box at the bottom of any page. Also added were pages for upcoming Mock Interviews, a link to surveys from last summer's interns, a section for our newsletter, and a links page with links to various organization's, companies, and presenters that you may want more information on. The membership page also now contains information on how to achieve Distinguished Membership in Beta Alpha Psi. A new "Upcoming Events" box has been added to your right and shows the events scheduled for the coming week.
