  • The Bottom Line: Please check out the latest edition of our new newsletter, "The Bottom Line" published Wednesday November 18, 2009! All editions(past and present) may be viewed by visiting the Newsletter Page.
  • BAP on Facebook: Please check out our new fan page on facebook, and become a fan of Temple BAP to stay informed of news, events, and information from our chapter on your facebook! The page can be accessed by going to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Beta-Alpha-Psi-Alpha-Phi-Chapter-Temple-University/146510791896 and once there, choose "Become a Fan" at the top right of the page!
  • VITA: The third annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at Temple University will be taking place this tax season, at Temple's Ambler Campus. VITA is an annual community service sponsored by the IRS to assist low- to moderate- income families and individuals who want to file their yearly tax returns for free. Members and candidates are encouraged to volunteer their time. This is a great way to gain experience, as well as a beneficial service to many people. Please join the VITA facebook group to stay informed of all news and upcoming events relating to the program. There will be two informational meetings -- one at Ambler: Tuesday Dec. 1 in Bright Hall Room 106 from 3:30 to 4:30, and one at Main: Friday Dec. 4 from 12:00 to 1:00, (location TBA).   • BAP Listserv: A new page for our Beta Alpha Psi Listserv mailing list has been created. This page contains information about how to subscribe yourself to the list if you are not already subscribed, how to unsubscribe yourself if you no longer wish to receive our mailings, how to view previous mailings, and some information for graduates and alumni about our Alumni Listserv. The page can be accessed from the quick links bar to the right.

  • Upcoming events: Please check out the updated calendar. November is a busy month for Beta Alpha Psi as we will be having many events in addition to weekly meetings. Please check out the recently updated calendar and contact the appropriate contact person to participate in each event!
  • Dues: Dues for MEMBERS must be paid no later than this coming Wednesday, Novemer 4. Dues for CANDIDATES were due this past Wednesday, October 28. Dues for candidates are $90, and for members are $50. Necessary forms can be found on the Membership page. Please contact Dzmitry Khitrykau with any questions.
  • Internship surveys: If you completed an internship over the summer or spring, please complete our Internship Interview. Completed surveys will be posted on the website or newsletter. This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences from your internship with other member and candidates. Last year's surveys can be viewed here.

  • Facebook Fan Page: Please check out the new facebook fan page, as we are transitioning from the group page over to this new page.
  • Newsletter: We are still seeking contributors for the newsletter. Contributions can be one time only, or recurring if you choose. This is a great way to get involved in the organization. Please visit the Newsletter page and contact Alison Kelly for more information.
  • Dues: Reminder that dues for candidates are $90, and for members are $50. Please have your dues paid sometime this month, preferably no later than Wednesday October 28. Forms for candidates can be found on the Membership page.
  • Volleyball Tournament: Our annual Volleyball Tournament is this Saturday, October 10. Please contact Christina Kowal if you are interested in helping out at this event.

  • New meeting room: Due to the high volume of members and candidates this semester, all meetings for the remainder of the semester will now be held in Speakman 112.
  • Vanguard:Just a reminder about the Vanguard "Temple Walk" opportunity on October 22. You must RSVP by October 2 if you would like to attend. View the events page for full details.
  • Beta Alpha Psi at Ambler: Looking for information about Beta Alpha Psi at Ambler? We now have a sub-site which features the full meeting schedule for Ambler, as well as Ambler officer contacts. The Ambler site can be accessed from the main menu above, or by going to http://www.temple.edu/students/bap/ambler. Expect more coming soon!
  • The Bottom Line: Please check out the newsletter page! Much new information has been added to this section to correspond with the updated version of the newsletter. Anyone may contribute to the new newsletter, so please check out the newsletter page for more information about the various opportunities available to all members and candidates.

  • Members - Internship surveys: Members - Did you complete an internship over the summer? If so, we'd like to get your thoughts on your experiences. Please take our member internship survey, as we are looking to compile our member's responses for use on the website or newsletter again this year. Please complete as many of the questions as you can, and send the completed surveys to Steve Meade, smeade@temple.edu at your convenience if you wish to participate.
  • Newsletter Committee: Beta Alpha Psi is looking for a new newsletter committee. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the organization and something to add to your resume. If you are interested in contributing and helping to develop 2-3 newsletters this semester, please contact Christina Kowal, christina.kowal@temple.edu.
  • Reminders: The first meeting for returning members is this Wednesday, September 16, and the first meeting for new candidates is this Friday, September 18.

  • Calendar updated: Information regarding the Senior Reception and the 2009 Accounting Internship Reception for juniors, both on September 22, has been updated.
  • Search our website: The search box at the bottom of the website, which stopped working when they moved us to the new URL, has been fixed and is now working again.

  • Important dates: There will be a SPO fair in Alter Hall from 11 to 1 on Friday September 4. The first meeting(members only) will be Wednesday September 16, and the first meeting for prospective candidates will be Friday September 18.
  • Calendar updated: Meeting and events schedule for the fall 2009 semester has been added. Expect more coming soon!
  • New officers: Please check out the officers page and meet all the new officers, most pictures have been posted!

  • IMPORTANT NEWS about our website: In accordance with Temple University's new computer services policies, all student organization websites must be located under a directory called "students." Therefore, effective immediately, computer services has moved our website, and the new URL is http://www.temple.edu/students/bap. Please update your bookmarks. The old URL, http://www.temple.edu/bap now redirects visitiors to the new "students" URL. The old URL will remain active as a redirect until 12/31/2009, after which point you will only be able to get to the BAP website by going to http://www.temple.edu/students/bap.

  • 2009-2010 Officers: Congratulations to all the newly elected officers for next year!
  • Newsletter: The second newsletter has been published, and can be viewed by visiting the newsletter page.

Friday 4/3/2009

  • Elections: Reminder that elections for all officer positions for 2009-2010 will held this coming Friday April 10, 2009.  The elections meeting will be held in Speakman 212 from 11:40 to 12:30.  Anyone who is interested in running for an officer position must email Jonathan Reiter, jonathan.reiter@temple.edu, no later than this coming Monday April 6.  You should include the position you intend to run for as well as a brief speech to be given at the election meeting.  Information on all positions as well as contact info for all the current officers can be found on the Elections Page.

  • Elections: Reminder that elections for all officer positions for next year will be held on Friday April 10.  Anyone may run, and if you are interested, you can find more infomation about a position on the Elections Page.  Deadline to run for a position is Monday April 6.

  • Alumni Mentor Program: Information on the new Alumni Mentor Program can now be found our the Alumni page of the website.
  • Upcoming Events: Reminder that TODAY(Monday, 3/9) is the last day to RSVP for the Philadelphia CPA review class or the KPMG office tour. Email Ross Reiter, ross.reiter@temple.edu to RSVP.

Thursday 2/26/2009

  • Special BAP Meeting for graduating seniors: Topics to be covered include: When and how to sign up for the CPA exam, when and how to sign up for a CPA review course, how to decide which CPA review course is right for you, what to do if you do not have a job offer yet, discussion of the new 150 hour credit requirements, and who it affects, & how to make sure you get your final posted transcript ASAP in order to be able to sit for the CPA exam. Speakers include: Liz Kolar, managing director of Philadelphia CPA Review; Helen Robinson, Fox Undergraduate Advising; & Sheri Risler, Professor of Practice. Our presenters will also be there to answer any and all questions that you may have about the CPA exam, graduating, job searches, etc. This meeting is open to ALL graduating accounting majors.
  • Upcoming Events: Several new events have been scheduled, including two mock interviews, an office tour, and a CPA review class sit-in. Please check out the calendar for full details about each event.
  • Lots of Updates to BAP Website: Please take a look around and check out all of the recently added new content! You can now search the entire website using the search box at the bottom of any page. Also added were pages for upcoming Mock Interviews, a link to surveys from last summer's interns, a section for our newsletter, and a links page with links to various organization's, companies, and presenters that you may want more information on. The membership page also now contains information on how to achieve Distinguished Membership in Beta Alpha Psi. A new "Upcoming Events" box has been added to your right and shows the events scheduled for the coming week.

  • Candidate Forms: Forms for candidates have been updated, and they are at the bottom of the Members & Candidates page if you need them.

  • New Alumni Surveys: Check out the alumni section to hear what our Alumni have to say!

Thursday 2/5/2009:

  • Induction banquet photos added: Some pictures from last week's candidate induction banquet are now in the photo gallery.

  • Reminder: Candidate meeting for anyone who is interested in joing Beta Alpha Psi is tomorrow, FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6 in Speakman 212, 11:40-12:30

Thursday 1/22/2009:

  • Candidate meeting 2/6/2009: We will have an informational candidate meeting on FRIDAY February 6 in Speakman 212 for all prospective candidates.  Anyone who is considering or is interested in joining Beta Alpha Psi is welcome and encouraged to attend. Please view the updated calendar for the full schedule for the spring semester.
  • Important changes: Meetings are now held in Speakman 113(not 215) on Wednesdays 11:40-12:30, and the new office location is in Alter Hall 403C.
  • Reminder: The Fall 2008 induction banquet is Thursday January 29, from 6:30-9:00 P.M. in the Diamond Club in the lower level of Mitten Hall at 1913 North Broad Street.
    Members must RSVP to Jessica Leggett by Friday 1/23/2009 to attend.
