Jim Kouzes Keynote Address on "The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership"

Jim Kouzes, best-selling co-author of The Leadership Challenge and executive fellow for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University, will come to Temple University on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 to speak about the five practices of exemplary leadership. Not only is Kouzes a highly regarded leadership scholar and experienced executive, The Wall Street Journal has cited Kouzes as one of the twelve best executive educators in the U.S. A popular speaker, Jim shares lessons learned about leadership from over 20 years of original research. He leaves his audiences inspired with practical leadership tools and tips to apply at work, at home, and in their communities.

Following Kouzes' keynote address, he will be available for a book signing, and The Student Leadership Challenge will host a LeaderShape Vision Showcase, where 2008 LeaderShape graduates will share their visions for the future "in a world of possibility" created at the May LeaderShape Institute. Exploring Leadership Speaker Series

Jim Kouzes' keynote speech represents the kick-off to The Exploring Leadership Speaker Series, which features interactive presentations that offer students an opportunity to examine each of the five practices of exemplary leadership in depth. Each 90-minute session will focus on a single principle:

2. Inspiring a Shared Vision
3. Challenging the Process
4. Enabling others to Act
5. Encouraging the Heart

Workshops are offered throughout the academic year providing students with multiple opportunities to learn about the dynamics of exemplary leadership.
