Due to an overwhelming demand, Seasonal Flu Vaccination will only be provided to students/employees according to the CDC priority groups listed below. Supply is limited and will be given to these priority groups listed below by appointment only until our supply is gone.
We have ordered additional seasonal flu vaccine, but we are not guaranteed to receive it. If we do receive additional vaccine, we will notify the Temple Community.
The priority list for seasonal flu vaccine includes:
1) persons aged 50 years and older;
2) women who will be pregnant during the influenza season;
3) persons who have chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematological or metabolic disorders(including diabetes mellitus);
4) persons who have immunosuppression (including immunosuppression
caused by medications or by human immunodeficiency virus;
5) residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities;
6) health-care personnel;
7) household contacts and caregivers of children aged <5 years and adults aged 50 years and older, with particular emphasis on vaccinating contacts of children aged <6 months; and household contacts and caregivers of persons with medical conditions that put them at higher risk for severe complications from influenza. |
