Discuss with your healthcare provider during your visit how you will be notified of test results. Your cell phone number is the most commonly used way to contact you. Make sure you put your current contact information on forms given to you at check-in.
For most testing for sexually transmitted infections, the office has a “no news is good news” policy. Most STI test results are available in 2 weeks.
Pap test results are available in 2-4 weeks. Letters are sent about all Pap test results. Phone contact will be attempted if results are abnormal. Please inform the office on the day of your visit if you do not wish to receive a mailed Pap test result letter.
If the office is unable to contact you about an abnormal test result, your contact information listed in OWLNet may be used to reach you. Every effort is made by the office to maintain your confidentiality.
