Student Media wins national awards
The 2011–2012 academic year has already been an exciting one for the Office of Student Media on a regional and national level.
The Temple News was one of just eight publications in the 20,000-plus enrollment category to win an Online Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press for having one of the top college newspaper websites in the country. You can see a list of the winners here:
It was The Temple News’ sixth recognition from the Associated Collegiate Press, the oldest and largest national membership organization for college student media in the country, since 2005. The Temple News was a newspaper Pacemaker finalist in 2005–2006, a newspaper and online finalist in 2006–2007, a newspaper finalist and winner in 2008 and an online finalist in 2009.
Additionally, the 2011 Templar yearbook was recognized in December with a national second place award from the American Scholastic Press Association.
