Transfer Orientation Overview

The Transfer Orientation process consists of 4 things that students must complete: the Online Transfer Orientation Program, the New Student Questionnaire (NSQ), online Placement Testing (if needed), and an on-campus Transfer Advising Session. Transfer students must attend an on campus Transfer Advising Session to register for classes. Students cannot register for classes on their own for their first semester at Temple University.

Transfer Academic Advising Sessions:

Transfer Academic Advising Sessions occur late May through late August for students starting in the fall semester, and late November through late January for students starting in the spring semester. Each school and college has specific session dates and students register for a session based on the school or college to which you have been admitted. Exact dates are viewable in the TUPortal Orientation Registration System only.

All sessions occur during weekdays (Mondays-Fridays) and are 3-4 hours in length. Transfer Academic Advising Sessions include an introduction to the academic policies and procedures, introduction to your major and school or college, academic advising, and registration for fall or spring semester classes.

All information and links to complete the requirements (online orientation program, NSQ, and placement tests), as well as instructions for scheduling a Transfer Academic Advising Session will be emailed to students TUmail email account 2-3 days after the deposit has been paid.
