Office of Student ActivitiesBy programming and supporting events for the entire student body, Student Activities hopes to enrich the college experience for every Temple student. We host fun, cultural and entertaining activities as well as weeklong University events for special occasions. We advise over 200 dynamic student organizations whose members enhance campus culture every day with their ideas, events and leadership. Contact the Student Activities staff for any of the following needs: Campus RecreationCampus Recreation has many opportunities for student leadership development as a student staff member! Campus Recreation employs more than 200 students each year. Student applications with work-study typically take precedence over non-work-study applications. Positions fill quickly so apply early. We accept applications online through the Temple University Student Employment website. Please complete the following steps to submit an application: Log on to TUPortal with your AccessNet user name and password (same as your email information).Once in the main TUPortal page click on "Student Links," which will open the TU links for Students page. Click on the link "Student Jobs @ Temple", which will open the Temple University Student Employment website. To create an application through the Student Employment website, you must first select a user name and password. Once you have created a user name and password, log on with your email address or username and password to browse employment opportunities and submit an application. All Campus Recreation positions are listed broadly as "Recreation Specialist." Click on “Recreation Specialist” to view subcategories of student positions within Campus Recreation, and look for particular areas of employment that interest you. Areas of employment under “Recreation Specialist” include: Office Assistant, IBC/PAV/Intramural Monitor, Group Fitness Leader, Adapted Recreation Assistant, and Lifeguard. Resident Assistant PositionThe Resident Assistant position is a highly esteemed leadership opportunity for full-time, matriculated Temple University students. To be eligible, you must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and be in good academic and university standing. Some of the financial benefits of the Resident Assistant position include a single room (in the hall in which you are assigned to work), a carte blanch meal plan, and a book stipend*. Beyond financial benefits, being a Resident Assistant will have a tremendous impact on your college experience. You will be able to meet many new people, coordinate events, assist other students with their transition to college life, and build your resume outside of the classroom. University Housing and Residential Life only conducts one selection process per year. Applicants apply the year prior to their appointment as a Resident Assistant.
