2010 fall leadership conference

Self-Awareness of Leadership

Saturday, October 2, 2010

The Fall Student Leadership Conference focused on the importance to grow in one’s self-awareness for effective leadership in groups and teams. Temple participants took two leadership assessments (StrengthsFinder and True Colors) and participated in experiential activities and small group dialogues to grow in their own knowledge of personal strengths and areas of improvement while valuing and understanding how to synergize in teams with diverse others.

The conference began with a keynote address by Dr. Sandy Kyrish, associate professor of practice in the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University. For the rest of the day students were divided into small groups led by a small group facilitator pair of one TU administrator and one Diamond Leader.

Together the members of each small group participated in activities and discussions in order to collectively explore the leadership concepts introduced throughout the day. This highly-successful annual event was an excellent way to begin the 2010-2011 school year. Participants earned 15 Leadership Diamond Points.
