Living Learning Communities' Peer Mentor Position
Peer Mentors are representatives of University Housing and Residential Life like Resident Assistants, work to create a positive environment by fostering a sense of community, providing help and assistance, and working with students and staff to ensure the best possible conditions within the residence facilities. Peer Mentors have the opportunity to work closely with staff and students over an extended period; they have the unique opportunity to positively influence student growth.
Peer mentors work with their assigned Residential Life staff team to do the following:
- Possess and express interest in the students within their residence hall
- Assist students in meeting their academic responsibilities
- Develop and maintain helping relationships with students on their floor
- Take an active role in programming
