Assignments & Billing

The Office of Assignments & Billings is one of the departments within University Housing & Residential Life.  The office is available to assist students with a wide range of needs relevant to their on-campus, residential experience and mainly focuses on the administrative procedures involved with processing any number of housing and meal plan requests for over 5,000 residential students.  The Office is comprised of the Associate Director for Finance and Operations, the Assistant Director for Assignments and Billing, the Housing Services Coordinator, and several Customer Service Representatives, all available to assist students and their families in securing on-campus housing accommodations.

 

Temple University takes reasonable measures to ensure students’ preferences are considered with regard to their housing assignments.  The Office of Assignments & Billings encourages students to review all the Universities policies and procedures, especially following University deadlines.

Due to limited availability, the University’s policy with regards to on-campus housing only guarantees on-campus housing for incoming freshman students and current freshman returning to on-campus housing for their sophomore year who submit a housing deposit and on-line housing application by the published deadline dates.  This policy is communicated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Office of University Housing and Residential Life prior to students entering Temple University and during summer Orientation.  However, in some cases, returning sophomores or juniors do receive housing such as students with medical needs. While we make every attempt to service requests when they are officially received, the University does reserve the exclusive right to assign and reassign as many students to a unit within housing as necessary and to make assignments at any time within its sole discretion.

 

Temple University also reserves the exclusive right to reassign students to another unit within its sole discretion. Housing assignments are made without regard to race, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or state of ability.  A student may request changes in assignment by receiving written approval from the Assistant Director for Assignments & Billing or the Resident Director.
