Housing Selection Process Policies
COMPLETING YOUR HOUSING LICENSE & DINING SERVICES AGREEMENT ELECTRONICALLY
To ensure that your request for University Housing for Fall 2008 - Spring 2009 is considered, you are required to log onto the MyHousing website (www.myhousing.temple.edu) in order to electronically complete your Housing & Meal Plan Applications.
REVIEWING THE TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE HOUSING LICENSE and DINING SERVICES AGREEMENT
Students will be first prompted to review all of the Terms and Conditions of the Undergraduate Housing License & Dining Services Agreement. It is important that you read all sections of the Housing License & Dining Services Agreement. By continuing with the electronic Housing & Meal Plan Application, you are entering into a legally binding contract. It is important to note that similar to OWLnet, the MyHousing website has a security “time out” feature if idle. Should students log on and get timed out of the session, they will need to log back in and start the process over from the beginning.
MEDICAL ACCOMMODATIONS
Those students who have been approved for an accommodation through the Office of Disability Resource Services will participate in the Housing Selection Process on Thursday, April 10, 2008 on the Main Campus, Room 217 in the Student Center. Only approved students will be eligible to select at this session. To confirm that you are approved for medical accommodations, please contact the Office of Disability Resource Services at (215) 204-1280. Students requesting medical accommodations will have the option of adding roommates to fill their unit (if applicable). Requests for Medical Accommodations must be submitted via the Group/Individual Housing Intention Form described in the 2008 Housing Selection Guide during the appropriate date for groups requesting either doubles or quads or as an individual requesting a single.
BREAK HOUSING
Students who anticipate a need for housing during any of the break periods for the fall 2008 – spring 2009 academic year (Thanksgiving, Winter, or Spring Break) must secure an assignment at “1300” Apartments or The Edge, the buildings opened during these break periods. Arrangements for Occupancy Extensions will be made with University Housing prior to each break period. Visit the University Housing & Residential Life web site for more details.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Students who participate and select a room during the Housing Selection Process are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Undergraduate Housing License. A schedule of penalties regarding cancellations is listed below:

WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND HOUSING SELECTION ON THE DAY I AM SCHEDULE TO ATTEND?
Students will only be able to participate on the specific day and time designated after the completion of their Group/Individual Housing Intention Form. If you cannot attend the Housing Selection meeting at your specified time, but another Temple University student can attend on your behalf (a potential roommate is recommended), you can obtain a PROXY FORM (available on www.temple.edu/housing). This form authorizes another individual to make a decision regarding your housing on your behalf. It is important that this person understand that they must bring your completed Proxy form, their Temple University I.D. card, and attend the Housing Selection meeting on the day and time you are specified to participate.
ARRIVING TO YOUR HOUSING SELECTION PROCESS MEETING ON TIME
Students should plan to arrive to their Housing Selection Process meeting approximately 10 minutes prior to the actual start time. It is advised that students traveling from either the Ambler or Tyler campuses or from any of the Temple-sponsored site plan accordingly and take the earliest shuttle that arrives on Main Campus well before their Housing Selection Process meeting.
If a student is not present when his/her name/group is called and arrives later during the specified session time, he/she will have to wait until after all appointments have been seen that day before selecting accommodations.
If a student misses their Housing Selection meeting entirely, they are no longer eligible for housing during the Housing Selection Process and can be added to the Housing Waiting List.
