VolunteerHEART Volunteer application!Volunteer Expectations:Volunteers are expected to act as positive role models for the Health Education Awareness Resource Team (HEART) and Temple University at all times. While understanding that all students are human, there is an expectation that volunteers are an extension of HEART and are encouraged to maintain a positive and healthy pattern of behavior while volunteering with us. In all cases, the coordinators retain the right to address any student concerns based upon a volunteer’s performance inside and outside of the program experience. What HEART Volunteers do:Provide Office SupportUnderstanding that an important aspect of health empowerment is interacting with others, office support is vital. Through your work in the office, you will have an opportunity to meet people, make posters, create program support materials, sell condoms, and expand your knowledge of the program as a whole. Be a Team MemberStudents in each project team will work with others to design, implement and evaluate the initiatives, programs and events sponsored by HEART. You can expect to meet on a weekly basis with your group and it is the responsibility of the group to self-monitor to ensure that all work is completed on time. The options include: Events & MarketingAdvertising for all events including projects & workshops. Also participating in the planning and facilitating of all major events. Media & Residence LifeCreating Bulletin Boards, programming and workshops for the residence halls. Serves as the Liaison for all events with and in conjunction with residence life. Workshops & OutreachTabling at various events around campus. Facilitating workshops for students in various capacities. Serves as a voice for HEART whenever needed. As a minimum requirement, all HEART volunteers are expected to support and help with the execution of HEART campus activities (these could be tabling events, programs, other awareness events, etc.) as your schedule permits. We would love for you to participate as much or as little as you can. No matter what your contribution you are still a valuable member of our Team. Steps to take to become a Volunteer:
We know you have a HEART too and we look forward to meeting you soon! Contact Us!Health Education Awareness Resource Team www.temple.edu/studentaffairs/heart |
