What is HEART?

HEART is an on-campus office staffed by health professionals and peer health educators who are committed to providing comprehensive wellness education, resources and prevention services to empower and support Temple University students in making informed healthier choices and achieving academic success.

What services does HEART offer?

HEART provides a safe space for students to receive free, anonymous or confidential health information in a supportive environment.

Where is HEART located?

HEART is located in the lower level of Mitten Hall on main campus.  HEART is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to stop by, e-mail tuheart@temple.edu or call 215-204-8436.

  • PROGRAMMING:  HEART provides programs and workshops on a variety of topics that we bring to you in residence halls, student group meetings, fraternities and sororities, sports team sessions, classes or to any group of interested students.  We will work together to determine and design what would best meet your needs.  Our programs are interactive, fun, and designed to empower and motivate participants to think about issues relating to health and wellness.  Programs are available and/or can be developed on topics including:

    • Alcohol & Sex
    • Sexual assault/violence
    • Alcohol and Substance Abuse
    • Dating Violence

  • CONDOM AVAILABILITY: Help spread the word that latex condoms are available at HEART priced at 10 for $1 and non-latex condoms are priced at $1.00 each.  We also offer dental dams, and free female condoms (3 per person per week). Flavored and unflavored Lubricant samples are also available.
  • RESOURCES: HEART has pamphlets, brochures, and other resource information for you to utilize.  Doing a paper, project, speech or report?  Have a health question for yourself or a friend?  Stop by for some great ideas and walk away with resources!
  • WANT TO GET INVOLVED?: Interested in health issues and looking for a great leadership opportunity?  Apply to become a Peer Health Educator, become a HEART Volunteer or ask us about academic internships and other opportunities.
