Meet our Professional Staff

Kimberly Chestnut, M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D.

Kimberly is a Coordinator of the Health Education Awareness ResourceTeam (HEART).  Kimberly earned her doctorate in Human Sexuality Education (October 2009) from Widener University, where she also completed a Masters degree in Education. Prior to studying in education she earned a Masters degree in Psychology from George Washington University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  Kimberly’s approach to education is interactive and engaging; she supports experiential learning and enjoys interacting with students at large campus events, in smaller evening programs, and one-on-one at the HEART office. In addition to comprehensive sexuality education, Kimberly has a passion for studying, writing, and facilitating programs related to wellness, health, and fitness.  In her time away from the office she enjoys training for triathlon and has started playing the guitar!

Kate Schaeffer, M.A.

Kate is the Program Coordinator for Alcohol & Other Drugs and Interpersonal Violence with the Health Education Awareness Resource Team (HEART). Kate earned her Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University in 2008. Prior to working at HEART, Kate worked for University Housing & Residential Life as the Coordinator for Student Conduct and Crisis Management. Kate has held numerous positions working in the mental health field, specializing in drug and alcohol addiction, conduct disorder, anxiety disorders, and autism and Asperger’s syndrome, specifically with young adults and adolescents. She also worked as a counselor at Rosemont College. Kate’s personal goal is to open an animal shelter.
