History of heart

1993   

Student Health Services started the Health Awareness Resource Team (HART) with 1 full time health educator.

2004

HART changes its name to the Temple Health Empowerment Office (THEO) and secedes from Student Health Services to become its own department under the Division of Student Affairs.

2006

THEO is taken over by Tuttleman Counseling Services to round out their prevention services unit already consisting of 3 other peer education prevention programs (CASA, CERT and SACE).

2008

THEO changes its name to Health Education Awareness Resource Team (HEART).

2009

HEART secedes from Tuttleman Counseling Services and becomes its own independent program in the Division of Student Affairs.
