Graduate Externships
The departments in the Division of Student Affairs offer a number of non-academic graduate externships. Please contact respective departments for available positions. Appointments will be made by each department before the start of the academic year in the Fall. Externships are usually 10-month (usually September to June, but ask the department for specifics) appointments and are compensated with a monthly stipend.

Temple University Student Leadership Challenge GE (1)
The Office of the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students is seeking a graduate extern in human resource management or higher education administration to assist with the coordination of the Temple University Leadership Challenge, a leadership program for undergraduate students. The graduate extern will report directly to the Associate Dean of Students. For detailed job description click here.

Priority candidates should have previous recreational sports experience and would be graduate students in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management with emphasis in Recreation Administration.
Marketing GE (1)
Coordinate department marketing including promotion of activities and programs, coordinate advertisements and press releases, manage department-wide recognition programs, assist Director with project management initiatives.

Student Center Operations (1)
The Student Center Operations extern will work with Operations Staff to develop student leadership and training programs for approx 100 students in a variety of front line and management positions within the Student Center. Program components include: semester training sessions, on-going staff development, end of semester recognition programs and special training sessions as needed or developed. The Operations extern will also partner with Operations Staff to develop special projects, assessment components, and service area improvements (Cinema, Game Room, Information Desk, etc). The extern will report directly to the Assistant Director for Operations and work closely with the Director and the Operations Managers. Student Faculty Center (Health Science Campus)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
All Graduate Externs will supervise, train, schedule and evaluate all student workers. Oversee the daily activities and serve as a primary resource for students, staff, administrators and community members who utilize the Student Faculty Center. Coordinate emergency procedures and serve as a point person during emergency situations. Report and record injuries, property damage, emergencies and unusual incidents. Oversee day-to-day personnel issues and concerns. Provide ongoing feedback to Student Faculty Center administration through one-on-one meetings, memorandums, and informal discussions. Assist with the development and implementation of all departmental events.
