Federal Workforce Recruitment Program

FWRP is the university’s premiere internship program for students with a disability who are eager to prove their abilities in the workplace throughout the summer or permanent jobs. The program connects federal sector employers nationwide with highly motivated postsecondary students which is open to all college majors that includes freshmen, graduate and professional students. Temple University Disability Resources and Services and the Career Center have partnered with FWRP since 1996, assisting students with a disability to secure federal internships and full-time employment. Nine out of ten students interviewed in 2009 were offered a paid internship.

FWRP offers:

  • Opportunity to sharpen interview skills.
  • Full-time paid internships.
  • Opportunity to market skills to potential employers across the United States.
  • Scholarship stipends.
  • Valuable skills and experience for future employment.
  • Marketable employment experience on your college resume.

Many participants in this internship opportunity have gone on to secure full-time employment with the Federal Government. In 2008/09, 10 students were interviewed by federal government, in 2010/11, 100 students were interviewed. Return to Projects page
