Browse Aloud

Browse Aloud reads web pages aloud for people who find it difficult to read online. It is a simple solution designed to increase website accessibility for 40% of the population who require online reading support. This includes those with literacy difficulties, dyslexia, mild visual impairments and where English is a second language. Temple University website is our window to the world and for many visitors, the first contact with our university. In line with Academic Strategic Compass goals of Global Temple and Opportunities for Success, Project Browse Aloud seeks to make our website more accessible to the very wide variety of people who access it each day. For some, they may have a reading difficulty, for others English may be their second language, and for many, they may have a difficulty in reading text on screen how many times have you printed a web page to read it on paper? These people may be prospective or current members of the Temple community, i.e., faculty, students or parents. With Project Browse Aloud we are reaching out to them to make their journey through our website an accessible experience. Return to Projects page
