Strategic Plan

It is my pleasure to present the Division of Student Affairs Strategic Plan for the future.  This plan was developed through a collaborative effort across all departments within the Division.  It is a roadmap for our future.  It represents a culmination of three years of consideration, planning and experimentation.

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to supporting the academic mission of the University.  We are dedicated to making learning experiences outside the classroom as enriching and fruitful as experiences inside the classroom.  Whenever possible, we will find ways to connect learning objectives to our programs and services and collaborate with our academic partners to extend learning beyond traditional boundaries.

The Strategic Plan is our effort to be intentional about our mission, in order to ensure our work has meaning and purpose.  Thinking and acting strategically will allow us to maximize student learning and discovery, make decisions based on a broad vision, and align resources (human and fiscal) with goals and objectives.  The completion of each objective brings us closer to our mission: to help students attain their educational, personal and career goals in a diverse, nurturing and safe campus environment.

The Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document.  I expect Directors and unit heads to use this document as a template for departmental objectives.  Everyone in the Division should become familiar with the principles of the Plan as these principles will become the foundation of our work.
 
A single mission and six goals provide a framework for departmental objectives. We are confident we can achieve our mission when we work together toward shared goals.  Join us on this journey of discovery and challenge.
