Assessment and evaluation is paramount to everything we do in student affairs. It is the foundation of quality, a prerequisite to cost effectiveness, the basis for short- and long-term planning, and the gauge for progress.

The Assessment and Evaluation Committee was created to assist individuals and departments within the Division gain a greater understand of effective assessment practices. The activities of the Committee include:

  • Assisting departments in completing assessment projects;
  • Conducting one Division-wide assessment project per year;
  • Collecting, standardizing, and maintaining Division-wide assessment data;
  • Communicating and disseminating assessment results to the University; and
  • Providing professional development opportunities related to assessment and evaluation for staff in the Division.

How Students Spend Their Time
The Assessment Committee is currently undergoing a qualitative study to determine how students spend their time. Analysis will be complete by June 2008.

2008 Research Symposium
The Assessment Committee coordinated the first Research Symposium in June 2008. Check back for more information on the 2009 Research Symposium.
