FAQ's
I work full time. Will I be able to find MS courses that meet my schedule?
Since the MS is a professional degree, by far the majority of our students
are working either full time or part time. With our students’ schedules
in mind, we time all our courses to meet in the evening, either at Temple
University Center City or at the Main campus. Therefore, unless your
work schedule necessitates frequent out-of-town travel or night work,
you should have no problem taking MS courses.
How long will it take me to complete my degree?
Full-time students should be able to complete this program in two years
or less. The time limit on the completion of all requirements is five
years from matriculation in the program.
I have not worked in communication before, although I have done work that
involved communication. Is this program right for me?
There are certainly no set rules regarding required background to enter
the MS program. All students are urged to communicate with the MS Director
regarding their particular career goals and experience, regardless of their
prior experience. Applicants without mid-level communications experience
will be considered, but prior grounding in communications practices is
preferred. MS students who lack mid-level experience will be required to
take an internship before they are permitted to do their capstone project
and graduate.
