Opportunities for Temple Social Work Students to have International Experiences
School Of Social Work
Germany
Are you interested in visiting Germany and expanding your social work knowledge? Social work today is a challenging and dynamic field. Visiting Germany will give you a chance to explore social work from an international perspective, with an emphasis on issues confronting children and families in Germany and the USA. You will visit several social service agencies and learn about different approaches to social problems, examining specific topics throughout the week. Temple students will hosted in the homes of German social work students.
St. Lucia
SSW students have traveled to the Caribbean island of Lucia for a 7 to 10 day experiential learning opportunity. They worked with schools and community leaders to improve the quality of life for impoverished local children, to identify needs for future endeavors, and to build the social networks, social capital, and relationships necessary to develop ongoing efforts to reduce poverty. The trips have been held in May of each year.
