Social Work Student Visit to Germany

Are you interested in visiting Germany and expanding your social work knowledge?

Issues confronting children in contemporary Germany and the USA

Visiting Germany will give you a chance to explore social work from an international perspective, with an emphasis on issues confronting children and youth in Germany and the USA.

You will visit several social service agencies and learn about different approaches to youth issues, examining specific topics throughout the week, such as juvenile justice, teen issues, and substance abuse.

Trip Details

  • Location: Erfurt, Germany (2 hours outside of Frankfurt)
  • Duration: 7 to 10 days
  • Dates: Sometime in May of 2008, exact dates to be determined

Undergraduate BSW Exchange

The School of Social Administration has an undergraduate BSW exchange agreement with FHE University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in Erfurt, Germany. Temple students may spend one semester or one year studying in Erfurt. As part of our mutual effort to develop a relationship between our two schools, They are anxious to learn more about Temple, Philadelphia, American culture and they have a particular interest in juvenile justice issues.

The University of Applied Sciences Erfurt is located in the medieval city of Erfurt located in central Germany in what was the former East Germany. The city is known for its churches and its long history as a center for higher education and learning. Temple students will take social work classes and engage in visits to local human service agencies. On campus living is available and Temple student pay regular Temple tuition and fee rates.
