Grants awarded to Temple University:
Adolescent Father Involvement Intervention Research Project. Principal Investigator, Three-year grant (Oct., 2003 to Sept., 2006) from the Department of Health and Human Services; Public Health Service; Agency for Health, Research, and Quality; Office of Adolescent Family Life Research, to study the impact of different interventions on teenaged fathers and the mothers of their children. The amount awarded for three years is $450,000.
Philadelphia Survey of Child Care and Work. Co-Principal Investigator, Three-year grant from the Child Care Bureau, Department of Health and Human Services, to study the relationship between child care problems and work outcomes among low-income women. Dr. Julie Press, Assistant Professor of Sociology is the PI. The amount awarded for 2001-2005 is $611,000. The grant continues through September 2005.
Father Involvement Research Project. Principal investigator, Two-year grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, Head Start Bureau (Head Start-University Partnership Research Grants), to study the impact of father involvement interventions on men, children, and families. The amount awarded for two years (1995-1996 and 1996-1997) was $253,000.
Parents’ Inc., Evaluation of the Head Start Transition Project. $3,000 for 1995. I was the evaluator of this study.
University/Community Service High School. Two-year grant from the Commission on National and Community Service to place four social work interns in Olney High School and to work with a group of twelve teachers from the community service charter. I served as Co-Project Director for this project which began in September, 1992. The total award for this project was $62,830.
