The Student
National Podiatric Medical Association (SNPMA) was incorporated
in 1973 and has been in existence for 30 years. It was created
to promote ethnic equality and diversity among the students
of podiatric medicine. The organization represented in one
organization all ethnic minority students in all colleges
of podiatric medicine recognized by the American Podiatric
Medicine Association. The organization serves as a support
group for minority students and works to provide a national
communication network among students as a means of improving
the health employment distribution among minority and ethnic
groups. SNPMA works closely with the National Podiatric
Medical Association (NPMA) and strives to educate and involve
members in social moral and ethical obligations of podiatry
profession. SNPMA also has an affiliation with the Alliance
of Black student Professionals, which attack issues that
universally impact the minority student's professional population.
