President’s Report: Karen M. Turner
Karen Turner said that, if you would like a copy of the information Karen Cherwony mentioned on November 17th, you need to contact her directly.
She then went over the monthly meetings for the Representative Senate. They included the following:
- The January meeting will focus on the quality of life at Temple. Turner suggested that it would be helpful if this new committee met prior to the January meeting to pull together salient points or a framework so that those who attend the senate meeting can be prepared for the discussion. Rahdert asked the steering committee members to contact either Paul LaFollette or him very soon to indicate what kinds of issues this committee should consider;
- The February meeting will have Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Tony Wagner, and possibly President Ann Weaver Hart as guests;
- The March meeting will focus on a theme, yet to be named;
- The April meeting will have Eleanor Myers, Faculty Athletics’ Representative, Bill Bradshaw, Director of Athletics, and four coaches as guests;
- The May meeting may have the President of the Board of Trustees and President Ann Weaver Hart as guests.
Regarding the Board of Trustees, Michael Jackson stated that he had attended a recent board meeting where some of the 20/20 Plan decisions, regarding campus changes, had been approved.
