Welcome to Temple University Faculty Senate
ATTN: Please be patient while our site is going through maintenance. No updates to this current site can or will be made at this time. Thank you for your patience.
The Faculty Senate is a rich diversity of faculty from all university schools and colleges coming together to voice the collective vision of Temple University.
Who is Eligible to be Part of the Senate?
- full-time faculty on a tenure/tenure-track appointment
- full-time faculty status on a non-tenure track appointment
Each Senate member on a non-tenure track appointment must have full-time faculty status for each of the preceding three years. The Senate and its committees, have the responsibility of acting as advisors to the administration and the Board of Trustees.
When Does the Senate Meet?
Faculty Senate Meetings are open to all faculty and are held twice yearly – in December and May. Representative Senate Meetings are held monthly from September to April. These meetings are open to all, but voting privileges are extended only to the Representative Senators.
The number of Representative Senators in each college is based on the number of eligible Senate members. Schools are notified each year of this number. Senate meeting days are varied so that all faculty members have a chance to attend most of the meetings in any year.
When is the Next Meeting and What is the Agenda?
The next Representative Senate meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 1:45 pm in Kiva Auditorium on Main Campus.
The agenda for the meetings is arranged by the Faculty Senate Steering Committee, which consists of one representative from each school and meets every Tuesday afternoon throughout the academic year.
