Provost selects 3 faculty to serve consecutive one-year terms
Criteria:
There shall be a University Research and Creative Achievement Awards Committee. Three members possessing appropriate competencies shall be appointed from three different schools/colleges by the Faculty Senate Committee on Administrative and Trustee Appointments. The choices of this committee will be final. After the Faculty Senate Committee has announced its choices, the Provost shall then appoint three persons from three other schools/colleges.
The six members of the University Research and Creative Awards Committee must come from six different schools/colleges. These persons shall serve rotating, three-year terms. The terms of one person selected by the Faculty Senate Committee on Administrative and Trustee Appointments and one person selected by the Provost shall terminate each year. No person may serve more than three consecutive years on this committee.
All terms shall begin on July 1 of the given year.
Administrators and presidential faculty from the schools/colleges shall be eligible for appointment. The members of this Committee shall elect a chairperson. This Committee shall forward the names of its nominees to the President through the Provost no later than January 27 of each year. If outstanding candidates are not available any one or all of the awards need not be made in a given year. A commensurate increase in the number of awards could be made in future years at the discretion of the committee.
