Honors Oversight Committee

Fall 2006

The Honors Oversight Committee met four times during the Fall 2006 semester to fulfill its charge of overseeing the Honors Program and seeking to improve it. Three major issues were addressed:

1. The move to a four-year program, with the new Scholars Program sitting atop the traditional two-year offering.

2. The designation of faculty to participate actively in the program, including teaching courses, mentoring individual theses, recruiting new students, serving on selection committees, and working with students nominated for national awards.

3. The granting of credits for appropriate scores on AP exams.

Committee members also participated in a pre-game luncheon at Lincoln Financial Field, the Honors Certificate Program, and the first (hopefully annual) Honors Reunion.

Respectfully submitted,

David E. Zitarelli, Chair
