Kimberly Guyer Assistant Dean for Student Affairs |
Kimberly Guyer joined SCT in January 2009. She was previously employed at Drexel's Student Resource Center where she was the Director responsible for customer service. She has also held student affairs positions at the Wharton School and at Penn State. Kimberly holds a B.A. in French and Spanish from Susquehanna University, where she also completed study-away programs in France and Puerto Rico. She holds an M.A. in Human Resources Management from Hawai'i Pacific University, and she is a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. She is writing a dissertation on factors that influence undergraduate degree completion rates for first-generation college students. |

Erin Palmer got her BA in English from the University of Delaware in 1999 and her Masters of Journalism from Temple in 2006. Erin started working at Temple University in 1999 at the Japan Campus. She moved back to Philadelphia in 2001 and worked in the International Programs Office until June 2007, when she began working as Assistant Director for Study Abroad programs in SCT. Justin Fithian received his BA in Anthropology from Temple in 1999. While he was a student, he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and worked as a group leader on the Owl Team, guiding new students in the right direction during orientation. After graduation, he worked for Student Activities as an Evening Manager and then as a Student Director. In March 2002 he joined the SCT family as a full time advisor. Mary Beth Flynn earned a BA in Communication Arts at Villanova University in 1982 and completed a MA in Rhetoric and Communication in SCT in 1993. She has taught Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication as an adjunct instructor, is a certified secondary school teacher, and a Mediation and Conflict Resolution Trainer. Patrick E Gordon is a native of northeast Philadelphia and has been at Temple University as a student and employee since 2000. He received a BA in Communications (journalism) in 2005 and has ties with several local and national newspapers as a freelance sports writer. He also holds an editor position with a local baseball publication and is currently pursuing his Master of Journalism degree at Temple. He joined the SCT Advising team in June of 2008. Kathleen A Peters earned her BFA from Temple University in 1998. After graduation, she took a position in Tyler Student Life. She left Tyler in 1999 to travel and examine her ambitions. In 2001, she found herself wanting to return to Philadelphia so she took the Admissions Counselor position at Tyler. Ready for a change, she joined the SCT Advising Center in July of 2006. Jane Slotterback has been at Temple most of her life. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1974 and her Masters in Education in 1982. Jane started working at Temple in 1975, running the JPRA photo lab and teaching photography. In 1984 she taught photo and advised at Temple's Ambler campus, but by 1987 was back full time at main campus. In Fall 2000, she returned to Ambler where she is the school liaison and advisor. Brian Seidel earned a BA in Communication Arts from Villanova University in 1997 and a diploma in TV and Radio Broadcasting from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1998. He began working at Temple in 1999 in the Disability Resources & Services department as a Student Services Coordinator. Jacqueline (Jackie) Moore joined the office of student affairs in February 2005 as the Administrative Assistant for the Advising Center. She previously had been with the School of Social Administration. She handles the front line of the Advising Center, calls from faculty, staff & parents, supervising scheduling and office records. Esther Shannon is a Temple retiree from 2000, who came back to Temple as a part-time employee in SCT's Dean's Office in 2003 and has been in Advising since 2005. In her previous Temple life, she was an administrator in the V.P.'s Office of Academic Administration and, lastly, Business Manager in the School of Social Administration.
