Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab (MURL)
The Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab (MURL) is both a concept and a place. The place- the lab- is a newsroom environment based on the ground floor of Temple University's Center City Campus (TUCC) just across 15th Street from City Hall. MURL features wireless networking, Internet access, laptops, digital recorders, access to the AP wires, and video cameras and recorders.
Here, our students experience 21st century journalism, exploring new ways of reporting and distributing news and information, neighborhood by neighborhood. Students work together, and online, using their expertise as newspaper, broadcast, magazine, and photo journalists. It is an exciting venture that's redefining Temple Journalism.
