Theater

New Media Interdisciplinary Concentration -Open to majors in the School of Communications and Theater only.


 

 

Minor in Theater

A 20 s.h. minor is available to undergraduate students in other departments and colleges. The minor is intended to give some broad introduction in theater followed by a small amount of specialization. A notation on the transcript will indicate successful completion of the minor.

Transfer credits are not accepted for credit for the MINOR IN THEATER. Students must receive the permission of their adviser before starting this program. Once the minor has been approved, students must follow the academic rules of the Department of Theater for all Theater courses. Minor credit is not given for theater grades below C. Students must maintain at least a 2.00 grade point average in the minor. Students with an average under 2.00 may not begin the program.

Requirements

Required for all students:
Theater C110: The Collaborative Art
Theater 0100: Production Practicum (2 semesters.)
Theater 0011: Introduction To the Theater Process (pre or co-req. Th. C110)
ONE of:
Theater W303: Classical Traditions,
Theater W304: Romantic Tradition
Theater 0305: Modern Directions.

And THREE courses in ONE of the following disciplines:

0363: History of Costume and Architectural Decor
W304: Romantic Tradition
0307: Seminar in Drama
0372: History of Modern Scenic Design
