Continuing Student Registration
For Spring 2008:
Begins Monday, October 15, 2007
Make an appointment to see your adviser
before registration begins. Set it up to occur before you are eligible to register so that you will be ready on your day.
TILT
All students who entered Temple as freshmen or transferred fewer than 45 credits are required to complete the Temple Information Literacy Tutorial. It is available on-line @ http://library.temple.edu, select "Services" an then TILT.
Advising Info on the WEB
The SCT Advising Center has its own website. Information on the site includes important dates, graduation info., FAQ, and links to other helpful university pages including CORE, the Undergraduate Bulletin and OwlNet. The URL is: http://www.temple.edu/sct-advising2.
you@temple.edu
All communications, like bills and other important documents will be sent solely
through your @temple.edu e-mail address. It is free and required that you have one and important to
check it regularly. You can access it from home by going to http://tuportal.temple.edu. Check with
computer services for details.
Confirmation
Each semester you register for classes, you will receive a bill. You must then make arrangements with Student Financial Services to acknowledge, or confirm, that you will attend. If you don't, you will lose your class reservations and financial aid for that semester. Even if your bill shows that no payment is due, you must still confirm.
Continuing Student Registration
All currently enrolled students register for classes through Continuing Student Registration. This process allows currently enrolled students to register early when a greater number of classes are open than during the on line period. Registration is prioritized by the number of credits students have completed. Seniors go before juniors etc. Specific dates will be announced later.
On-line Registration
New students, readmits, and continuing students who did not do Continuing Student Registration can register for classes during on-line registration. This is done by phone, through OwlNet or by terminal if the student is not phone eligible.

Changing Majors ?
Before you “hit the road”, there’s a little paperwork you have to do. If you are changing majors within SCT you need a Change of Major form. Fill it out and return it to the SCT Advising Center (Ambler—to Jane Slotterback). If you are switching to another college within Temple, you need an Inter University Transfer (IUT) form. Get it at the Advising
Center and take it to an adviser in your new program who must approve it and request your file.
TEMPLE Terms
Temple students and personnel alike are guilty of using the jargon of academic life. For those who are new at this, we've compiled a list of popular "buzz words" that can confuse new students.
Transfer Credit Statement
If you are transferring from another college or university, this form, issued by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, lists courses that have been accepted for credit and their Temple equivalencies. When registering at Temple, keep it handy so you don’t register for a class you have taken elsewhere as you can only get credit for the same course once.
Wash Out
(Registration Cancellation)
Failure to confirm, pay your bill or settle any other financial obligations to the University will result in a cancellation of your registration for the semester.
Minors
If you are interested in a minor in any CLA department, go to Advising, 1st fl. Sullivan Hall, to fill out the paper work and speak with an adviser. In SCT the Theater Department offers a minor. We also offer the New Media Interdisciplinary Concentration available to SCT majors. To sign up, go to the SCT Advising Center, Ambler students see Jane Slotterback, West Hall, LL 8.
DARS Report
This is the degree tracking system that is used by Temple to help you in choosing your classes based on your major. An updated copy will be available to you every semester on-line.
