Life After Textbooks: Diversity in the Real World

March 27, 2008

3:30 p.m. Panel; 5:30 p.m. Reception

Student Center Annex 200C

Sponsored by: Fox School of Business, School of Communications and Theater, Vice Provost's Office for Undergraduate Studies

Temple was recently ranked the Most Diverse Student Body by Princeton Review. What does this mean for students? Temple provides a very safe environment for students, but what is diversity beyond a college campus? What are organizations doing to promote diversity and why are they promoting diversity? Is corporate America making progress in terms of diversity? Do affinity groups help or hurt? Do Temple students have an advantage in the "real world" coming from such a diverse community?

Panelists:

Roy Weathers, Chief Diversity Officer, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Sharon Barnes, Director of Diversity, Vanguard

Priti Dheer, Director of Diversity, CIGNA

Paulo Machado, Director of Innovation, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals

Moderated By:

Alison Konrad, Ph.D, Ivey School of Business
