Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mass Media and Communication
The MM&C curriculum offers a strong foundation in research and methodology and is oriented around the institutions and social processes of mass media and communication. Students are mentored through individualized courses of study, teach undergraduate courses, and participate in faculty research and publications.
Master of Arts in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media

Students examine media institutions, social and cultural processes, the organization and management of mass media, telecommunications, and new technologies. Students may complete professional media training and internships. The program offers a foundation in theory and methodology and is preparatory for the PhD in Mass Media and Communication.
Master of Fine Arts in Film and Media Arts

Filmmakers, videomakers, screenwriters, and media artists receive advanced training in one of the top graduate programs in the country. Students explore all media art forms, particularly documentary, alternative voices in narrative film and television, independent narrative, and works of artistic and social consciousness. The MFA is a terminal degree.
Master of Fine Arts in Theater

This professional training program is designed for students of acting, directing, design programs, scene design, lighting design, costume design, or costume construction. Students collaborate with professional faculty, staff, and guest artists to stage exciting, contemporary theater before a major-market audience. The MFA is a terminal degree.
Master of Journalism

Designed for students interested in writing-intensive media professions, this professional program offers advanced training in traditional and Web-based media, including newspaper, magazine, and broadcast. Students may pursue professional media training and internships. Preparatory for the PhD in Mass Media and Communication.
Master of Science in Communication Management

Students learn to manage and apply strategic communication as part of a leadership team. Using advanced skills in research, management, problem-solving, and issues management, they gain relevant management and communications competencies to build effective relationships between all types of organizations and their publics.
