Study Away
Dublin Program

Course Offerings
The summer program will include two courses, each worth three SCT credits.
The first course, taught by a Dublin-based professor affiliated with the IES, will enable students to engage in a spatial narrative with the city by means of a detailed study of the city's spatial morphology in which a form of "philosophical pluralism" is called for in the individual's "human geography."
The second course, taught by the Temple University Faculty Director, will focus on travel writing and the ideas of International Communications and Intercultural Competence.
We also hope to visit media and arts institutions, which may include:
- The Irish Times, Dublin’s oldest newspaper that also was the first in Europe to go online;
- TG4 (Teilifis na Gaeilge) or Radio na Gaeltachta, Gaelic-language television and radio stations;
- the National Photographic Archive, whose exhibitions draw on the works of Irish photography in the National Library of Ireland;
- the Irish Film Centre, which screens Flashback, a history of Irish film since 1896;
- and the Abbey Theatre, the main venue of the Irish National Theatre, which mounts traditional and new Irish plays.
