This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a home invasion and robbery involving Temple students off campus in the 1800 block of North 18th street. Police report that three black males followed a female Temple student to her apartment and forced her inside, where they robbed the woman and her roommates. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information should contact Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-3093 or via text message at 773847
Please use caution in the area. Students should also take advantage of TUr Door and other forms of transportation.

This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
We want to inform the Temple community of a series of fires that were set at the Morgan Hall construction site yesterday and today. The fires involved construction debris and were not serious.
No one was injured and construction continues on the site as scheduled. Federal and city authorities are investigating the incidents, which have been limited to the worksite and pose no threat to the Temple community.

This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
Philadelphia Police and Temple University Police are investigating a robbery with a gun involving a Temple student and an employee Thursday, Jan. 3, at 5:50 p.m. outside 1426 W. Venango Street, west of the Health Sciences campus. Two males approached the student and employee demanding money. The two males fled west on Venango Street after taking money from the employee. The descriptions of the offenders are as follows:
1. African American male in his 20’s, 6 feet tall wearing a black leather jacket.
2. African American male also in his 20’s, 6 feet tall wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt.
The Temple Police have increased patrols in the area. If you see these males, do not approach them and call 911 immediately. If on campus, contact Temple Police by calling 1-1234 from a campus phone or 215-204-1234 from a non-campus phone.
In light of this incident, we would like to remind everyone in the Temple community:
· Refrain from using devices like cell phones and digital music players when walking and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
· Do not engage, or become engaged, in conversations with strangers.
· Avoid dark or hidden walkways and the temptation to use shortcuts and informal pathways.
· Trust your instincts--if you feel uncomfortable in a place or situation, leave the area and go somewhere safe.
· We encourage you to take advantage of University or Health System sponsored parking in the area.

Philadelphia Police Central Detective Division is investigating a series of off-campus robberies involving Temple students, which took place between Sunday morning and Monday evening in the northwestern area outside of campus. The dates, times, locations and suspect descriptions are as follows:
• Sunday, November 11 at 8:45 a.m. 2000 N. 18th Street, African American male 30 years of age, 5’9” wearing a black “beanie” cap, blue puffy coat and blue jeans.
• Sunday, November 11 at 8:15 p.m. 1600 W. Edgley Street, African American male wearing a red “hoodie” with the hood covering his face.
• Monday, November 12 at 6:00 p.m. 2100 N. 16th Street, African American male, 6’1”, thin build, black “hoodie” with baggy black jeans. (More information provided...)

This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
Philadelphia Police are asking for our assistance in the investigation of an off-campus robbery and homicide near the Health Sciences Campus on North Broad Street that occurred at approximately 2:00am this morning.
The incident did not involve a Temple student or employee. The incident occurred on the 3200 block of N. 15th Street between Allegheny and Westmoreland Ave. Temple Police were just recently made aware of the exact location of the incident.
At this time the offender has not been apprehended and is described as a Black male, approximately 5’5-5’7 tall last seen wearing a black hoodie and riding a bike.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the city police at 215-686-3334.

Philadelphia Police are investigating the off-campus shooting of a Temple student that took place about 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1900 block of Gratz Street. The student is being treated at Temple University Hospital and is expected to be released. One suspect is in custody. Additional details regarding the incident are not available at this time. Anyone with information is urged to contact the city police at 215-686-3093.

At approximately 11:45am today a Temple student reported being robbed near the 1400 block of Diamond Street. Philadelphia and Temple Police began investigating the robbery and have since arrested a suspect fitting the description of the offender and recovered a weapon believed to be used in the incident. There is increased police activity and media responding to the scene of the incident. Please avoid the area of Broad and Dauphin streets. Anyone with information should immediately call 911.

Philadelphia and Temple Police are investigating a shooting which took place just after 10 pm at the intersection of 11th and Norris streets, adjacent to campus. A 10-year-old child was shot in the leg and has been hospitalized. The suspect is a black male wearing a blue and white sweatsuit last seen going north on Marvine. Anyone with information should immediately call 911.

This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
Temple University Police and Philadelphia Police are investigating a robbery and assault of a Temple student that occurred in the 1400 Block of West Diamond Street at approximately 10:15 a.m. today. An iPhone was taken when two unknown males struck the student in the eye then fled east on Diamond Street.
The males are described as African American in their mid- to late- teens. One male was approximately 5’8” in height with a thin build, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. There is no further description on the second male involved. Temple Police detectives are currently reviewing all video in the area attempting to capture footage of the suspects.
In light of this incident, we would like to remind everyone:
- Be aware of your surroundings at all times and refrain from using distracting devices such as cell phones and headphones when walking, especially while traveling alone.
- Avoid engaging or becoming engaged in conversations with strangers.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable in a place or situation, leave the area and go someplace safe.
- Never hesitate to contact Temple Police if you feel unsafe by calling 1-1234 from a campus phone or 215-204-1234 from a non-campus phone. If off campus, contact the Philadelphia Police by calling 9-1-1.

This is a TU Advisory from Temple Police:
Please be aware there will be ongoing police activity in the Norris Street/Warnock Street area near campus today as a result of an overnight incident.
The incident began with an automobile accident on 9th Street near Norris. One of the vehicles involved in the accident fled the scene. Temple University Allied Barton bicycle patrol officers heard gunfire from the area and called it in. Philadelphia Police Department and Temple Campus Police officers responded and were fired upon, with Philadelphia officers pursuing the suspect into the Norris Homes community. The suspect was shot by Philadelphia police after he fired at officers. No one else was injured. The suspect is currently at Temple University Hospital receiving treatment for his wounds.

This is a message from Temple Police:
Philadelphia Police report that an armed robbery took place in a private apartment on the 1500 block of Page Street around 10 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The occupants of the house, all Temple students, were robbed at gunpoint. No injuries were reported.
One of the occupants of the house has been arrested for possession of illegal drugs with the intent to deliver. The presence of illegal drugs inside the house is believed to be related to this incident.
A suspect in the robbery was detained shortly after the incident and charges are pending. The investigation is continuing. Temple University Police are working with Philadelphia Police to add patrols in this area. If you heard or saw anything in the area, call Temple Police by dialing 1-1234 from a campus phone or 215-204-1234 from a non-campus phone.
The suspects were described initially as:
Offender 1: Black male, 18-25 yrs old, tall, thin, navy windbreaker, Nike pants with a stripe and armed with a handgun.
Offender 2: Black male, 18-25 yrs old, chubby build, black hoodie, armed with a handgun.
Offender 3: Black male, light brown shirt, white lettering, waited outside of the location and then fled on foot with the offenders.
In light of this incident, we would like to remind everyone in the Temple community:
-Lock your doors and windows.
-If you are aware of criminal activity taking place, particularly behavior involving roommates or neighbors, report it immediately to the police.
-Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable in a place or situation, leave the area and go somewhere safe.
-Use timers on lights, radios, televisions, etc. and set them to go on and off to make your home appear occupied.
-Ask a trusted friend, neighbor or your landlord to watch your home and contact police if they notice any suspicious activity while you are away.
-Close blinds or drapes to ensure that larger electronics and valuables are not visible from the outside.

This is a message from Temple Police:
Philadelphia Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred about 11:10 a.m. today in the area near Broad and Oxford Streets. The area is safe, however we ask that you avoid this location because of the increased police activity due to their investigation.
Reports indicate that a Temple student was struck by a vehicle and has been transported to the hospital. The student is in good condition.

Please be advised that the telephone issue that began on February 12, 2012 has been resolved. Telephones are back on line. Incoming and outgoing calls are now working. The problem was a hardware malfunction in the Verizon central office. Our police communications system has been thoroughly tested to ensure that emergency calls to 215-204-1234 are functioning. Temple students and employees may resume use of Temple's emergency number as usual.

As part of Temple’s Emergency Preparedness initiative, the university conducted a test of its emergency notification system today, beginning at 4:00PM. As part of the TU Alert test, a text message was sent to all cell phones registered to receive TU Alert, and an email was sent to all Temple email accounts. This was a test of the system, no action was required.
