TUAlert Phone Number

Temple University’s campus emergency notification system has been developed to create the safest possible environment for the campus community. Effective and reliable mass notification has become a fundamental aspect of university security.

TU Siren

Used only to communicate information regarding an incident that occurs on or around campus that is deemed a catastrophic and life-threatening situation (e.g. severe weather or release of hazardous material). The siren will indicate the need for all to shelter-in-place, unless otherwise directed. In addition to sounding the siren, a TU Alert will be sent out and incident updates will be posted to the university web site. The TU Siren engages for 3 minutes.

TU Alert

Used to communicate information regarding an incident that occurs on campus and is deemed an emergency requiring immediate action on the part of the campus community. This is an e-maill, a text message to cell phones, and/or a phone call.

How to Register:

Members of the Temple community who wish to have an emergency notification sent directly to their cell phone must register their emergency information.  If you have not already done so, please take a moment now to register to receive cell phone text messaging.  Follow the links below to sign up for TU Alert today.

Parents:

The TU Alert notification system is designed to deliver critical information to our students, faculty and staff in an expedited manner. While we understand a parent's concern, our priority is getting information to the immediate Temple community. Adding parents to our system (that currently delivers messages to over 46,000 recipients) would delay this process.

However, we do post information, following an event and when appropriate, to our temple home page and update our hot line (215.204.1975) in the event of an emergency. In addition. Temple University uses social media to inform our extended community. Look for Temple University on Twitter.

TU Advisory

Used to communicate information regarding an incident that occurs on or around campus that is deemed significant, yet does not warrant immediate action. The message will be in the form of an e-mail.
