Insurance requirements for the rental/utilization of Temple University Facilities

Any organization that wishes to rent/utilize a Temple University Facility venue must show that it is fiscally sound and has the resources necessary to underwrite all risks associated with the event. Typically, this proof is provided by way of a certificate of insurance. The organization must

  • provide a minimum of $1,000,000 in general liability coverage
  • name “Temple University of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education, its officers, employees and agents” as Additional Insureds
  • state that “This Insurance is primary as to any other valid and collectible insurance in force”

Uninsured organizations may purchase coverage for the date(s) of their event through the Tennant User Liability Insurance Program (TULIP). However, insurance coverage must be in place prior to an outside organization/group’s use of University facilities.
