This service is provided free of charge to students. This information is needed by the student’s lender, insurance carriers, sponsor, etc. to determine eligibility for loan deferment and continuation of in-school benefits.

Therefore, it may be released to third parties without the written authorization of the student according to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
A third party such as an employer, insurance carrier, background screening firm, etc. must contact the National Student Clearinghouse, our authorized agent for providing enrollment and degree verification, for this information. The Clearinghouse may be contacted at (703)742-4200, www.studentclearinghouse.org or degreeverify@studentclearinghouse.org. Their mailing address is

Generally speaking, a student who has resided in Pennsylvania for at least twelve (12) continuous months immediately prior to enrollment at Temple University or any other institution of higher education in Pennsylvania is presumed to be a resident for tuition purposes.
Conversely, a student who has not resided in Pennsylvania for a period of twelve (12) continuous months immediately prior to enrollment at the University or any other institution of higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is presumed not to be a resident of Pennsylvania for tuition purposes. However, these students may rebut this presumption with clear and convincing evidence.
To that purpose the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has established an application and appeal process for residency for tuition purposed. This document contains instructions, a set of the Commonwealth’s guidelines for your review and an application for Pennsylvania Residency.
